SHADY GARDEN - TEDDINGTON

This garden in Teddington has been developed over the course of a year.

Our client wanted us to improve what she had without a complete redesign.  It is a very shady garden by nature with limited opportunities for sunny planting.

To transform the garden, we started by targeting the sunniest parts.  We broke out some paving to create a bigger bed and converted some of the lawn into a border.

We needed to address the problem of failing grass and moss taking over in the shadiest part of the garden. To do this we extended the bed at the back and planted with evergreen, shade tolerant plants to create a lush woodland garden.

Finally we removed some grass turf and laid a shade tolerant wildflower turf for added interested and to support wildlife within the garden.

A combination of different Tulip and Narcissus Bulbs were added last Autumn to provide early spring interest.
